An accessory is a piece of hardware that is designed to work with another piece of hardware to improve it in some way. Sometimes accessories can add abilities or features to a product, sometimes they just make them easier to use. For example, for an Android smartphone an accessory might be a device-specific carrying case or a third-party headset. For an iPad an accessory might be a hardware keyboard or even a USB adapter.
