Adobe releases CreatePDF iOS app for iPhone and iPad

Today Adobe added another app to their growing collection of iOS offerings with the $10 CreatePDF app for iPhone and iPad. 

 

As the name implies, CreatePDF allows you create PDFs out of documents on your iDevice of choice, which Adobe says will bring the "same high-quality" as Adobe Acrobat. The app doesn't appear to compromise any of the quality you're used to on the desktop, preserving formatting and supporting Word docs, Excel files, PowerPoint presentations, images, and all the other usual suspects. 

 

After installing the app you will be able to send supported documents and file types from other apps to the CreatePDF app. This is done through iOS's native "Open in…" feature. When viewing documents and other files supported by the app, an "Open in "CreatePDF" option should appear in the context menu. You can also of course email PDF's from within the app, but aside from that the feature set is pretty bare. 

 

 

You can grab CreatePDF as a universal binary from the App Store now. Adobe notes "This app is designed for both iPhone and iPad", but the download page lists iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad as compatible. Requires iOS 4.3 or later.
