Google Propeller: the tablet app that's better than Flipboard

After technology insider Robert Scoble posted a small note about Google "working on a Flipboard competitor" for both Android and iOS, AllThingsD found out the name of the project is Google Propeller and it's supposed to be "mind-blowing good."
Despite the poor grammar, that does sound like a great app. Scoble theorizes that Google may be waiting out Facebook's recent set of announcements before unleashing a flurry of their own.
Flipboard, Pulse, Zite, etc. are all similar products based on social reading lists. Instead of reading RSS feeds in Google Reader, the idea is to collect links to stories that friends and family share across Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ and combine them into a visual magazine-like interface for a more enjoyable experience.
Propeller is apparently only one of many new socially-focused products awaiting announcement from Google. With Google+ at the heart of the company these days, it's in line with the company's new social focus.
What's unclear is how tightly integrated other social networks will be with Propeller and other yet-to-be-released social offerings. Facebook and Google haven't exactly been friendly of late and it's unclear whether these new announcements will be Google-only or will work across all platforms.
Until then, let the speculation rain.
