Every mobile platform is pushing apps. Apps to connect you with Twitter and Facebook, apps to keep you organized, games, news apps, weather apps. However, hard and fast numbers are hard to come by. We take a look at the number of iPhone apps in the App Store, the number of Windows Phone 7 apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace, the number of WebOS / Palm apps, the number of BlackBerry apps in the App World.

The numbers in this case tell an interesting story. With Apple's iPhone clocking nearly 314,415 unique apps in the App Store that when combined with 58,225 iPad specific apps give iOS the lion's share with nearly 375,000 apps!

The Android Market is a distant second with an otherwise impressive 135,829. BlackBerry trails with 17,662, Palm clocks in at 5,216 and the Windows Phone Marketplace offers 5,462 apps.
