Gingerbread update for Android... not quite

If you're a Nexus One user waiting with bated breath for the Nexus One Gingerbread update... you've got a little while to go yet. Late last week, you might have gotten your hopes up when an over the air (OTA) update was pushed to your phone only to find what you thought was the 2.3 Gingerbread update for Nexus One was, in fact, an incremental update to 2.2.2 from 2.2.1. Not the great white hope we were holding out for.

Latest word from googleneuxusone on Twitter is... not a lot, really. In about mid-January, 2011, the team tweeted that Gingerbread would be coming to Nexus One users "in the coming weeks."

The only mention we hear now comes from upset Nexus One users, waiting for the release of Gingerbread for Nexus One.
