Speedy Spectrum Analyzer 1.05
the author of this app says:
Fast, accurate audio spectrum analyzer, that displays the full range (20Hz-21kHz) of audio (as captured by the microphone) in logarithmic decibels.
Thank you everyone for purchasing - the response has been great! I appreciate all the encouraging emails.
*H/W Update*
Fix for Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S SGH)! Thanks for the report Red Baron - if this update fixes your problem, I would appreciate an update to your review. If anyone has any problems on a specific phone, please email me first before leaving negative feedback (dev@electronchaos.com) - I will gladly refund money for any h/w compatibility issues, and it will help me add in h/w workarounds and fixes for quirky phones. I refund even if you are past your 15 min window that Google gives you, if for some reason it doesn't work on your phone and I am unable to fix it.
*NEW*: Contains workaround for the Atrix phone hardware microphone issue. Please let me know if you have an Atrix how this works for you - the workaround comes straight from Motorola engineering, but I don't have an Atrix to verify it against. Also, remember all purchases are risk-free, as I will refund money if it doesn't work on your phone (even past the 15-min window if necessary - I want it to work for you).
More app details:
Spectrum Analyzer FFT frequency bins are generated using an FFT, with 1500 bins. This gives a detection resolution of 29.4 Hz, at a capture rate of 44.1kHz.
Frequency range is the full range of 20Hz-22kHz; the actual capabilities will depend on your hardware Microphone. On the original Droid, I have tested 60Hz all the way up to 21kHz.
My goal is to make a useful spectrum / spectral analyser tool for audio professionals, engineers, installers, etc. I try to incorporate all feedback into future versions, to make the spectrum analyzer as useful as possible. Thank you everyone!
*NEW in 1.04* Ability to send captured graphs via email / Facebook / Twitter / etc.
*NEW in 1.04* Permission changes - no longer require wake-lock to keep screen awake, and require ability to modify sdcard in order to save graph to an image.
*NEW in 1.02* FFT Windowing operations - choose your FFT Windowing function from the menu
*NEW in 1.02* Pause/Resume
Adjustable peak Decibel bar allows you to set the threshold for the large banner that indicates the peak frequency detected.
Peaks are printed above the top 4 frequencies detected.
Works in both landscape and portrait mode.
Here are the permissions the app requests, and why:
* android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO
To capture audio from the Microphone to display
* android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Save the graph to an image, and send it via email.
Change notes:
