First is a PocketPC application for creating and viewing associative diagrams. It was designed for PocketPC pen-based devices. Reuse of UI components reduces both the amount of learning required, and minimizing the device resources required to store and run the application.

The objects in First's diagrams are associated with each other. As each is moved, resized or otherwise modified, the others in the diagram react and adjust themselves appropriately. Each type of object has its own intelligence and reacts according to its own set of rules.

First implements export functions in an ActiveSync filter that resides on the desktop machine. This gives the user the ability to convert First diagrams to other common formats without increasing the size of the software on the PDA.
