Beginning with images and working up to numbers your child can progress through the different levels. *Video walkthrough now available at www.feetup.co.uk* FEATURES - Very simple to use one touch button - Child friendly visual and audio feedback - Bright and colourful graphics - Three progressive levels Image Level In this level children are asked to count a number of images and then to find the correct number of matching images to add up to 10. Children are beginning to see the patterns that make 10. Number Level In this level children progress to seeing the graphic representation of the number of images. Children begin to make the association with the numbers that go together to make 10. Sum Level Finally at this level children now have to find 2 numbers that go together to make 10. Children are becoming secure in knowing number bonds to 10. There are many ways used by teachers to make learning number bonds fun. This application enhances the work done in schools. It gives the child a fun non -threatening environment in which to practice. Children enjoy repetition, this application enables children of a young age to practice, repeat and try out their new found skills. Securing number bonds at an early age gives children number confidence as they progress through school. WHY ARE NUMBER BONDS SO IMPORTANT? Knowing number bonds to 10 i.e. which 2 numbers go together to make 10 is one of the learning objectives taught throughout KS1 in primary schools. Having a secure knowledge of number bonds enables a child to begin to be able to recognise patterns in numbers and the number system which they will build on and use later in their mathematical progress. For example a child who knows that 2+8 =10, very quickly will be able to see how 12+8 =20 or 20+80=100, 200+800 = 1000 and so on. In the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) before children become familiar with written numbers they are able to see patterns of numbers. As they develop their ability to count objects they begin to see how numbers go together in patterns. One press of a button and your child will be practicing and developing their number bonds to 10, skills which underpin so much of their mathematical skills and development for the future.
