can you have more then 1 linux os.on a hard drive.and if so will it boot up to give a pick of what you want to run for that time.thank you

Yes that is possible, however, if you have not used Linux previously, then you might reconsider. There are two things very important that need to be configured for that to work properly:
The MBR Master Boot Record - which lets you choose with Linux to boot when powering on the computer.
and
The Partition Scheme and setup so that there are no conflicts, otherwise you will encounter issues.
