Please consider that you will need an email client such as Windows Live Mail or Mozilla Messaging (aka Thuderbird) in order to receive email messages via POP3. IE8 is an internet browser not meant for use as an email client. If you want to check email within your browser then you could consider the Opera browser or the SeaMonkey Project from Mozilla.

The mail program that came with IE8 is called Windows Mail. It is available on Windows Vista and Windows 7. More info here. For the best email service (if you need that) check out our sister site Hover.com
