Troubleshooting Honeycomb installation to Nook Color per Butterscotch directions.

Category: Android

Additional Details:

I have been trying to follow the directions for installing Honeycomb on my Nook Color using a PC but when I try to extract the nookhoney04.img file to the micro SD card it hangs up during the extraction and the img file always has a different file size each time I try it. After using the WinImage Software to write to the img file, all I get when booting up the Nook is a little Green text on the upper left corner of the screen that says, "Android" with a flashing cursor after the text, please advise. Thanks Tim

If you have more than one microSD card kicking around, I'd suggest you try the process with another card. The microSD card or the card reader are the most likely suspects. However, replacing these requires a cash outlay so first:
Compare your nookhoney04.img.zip file against the MD5 27396e63396a59a25f5d6fdbe0341276 and redownload the image if the checksum doesn't match. If you don't want to bother with checksums, just re-download. Beyond that, you'll need to check WinImage help files to see if the problem is addressed.
