Personally, I have one router downstairs and then another router on the main floor that is set up as a wireless bridge and repeater. That said, the process is not simple. It requires flashing (definition) new firmware (definition) onto the router you want to be a repeater / bridge. This is not condoned by manufacturers. While the process is outlined step-by-step on some sites, you do run the risk of "bricking" your device; rendering it useless. We recommend DD-WRT firmware. See the DD-WRT list of supported routers to find out if your devices are eligible and which version of the firmware you can run. From there, very carefully and completely follow the DD-WRT installation instructions. Don't skip any steps and read and understand the whole process before you begin.
