In Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced the "sidebar." It's a handy place to put things that make your life a little easier. With the release of Windows 7, there are even more "gadgets" to put in your Windows Sidebar. Doc has picked 10 of his favorite gadgets. We looked at five last week and today, we cover off the remaining five.

Skype Gadget
- You still have Skype loaded but it can be minimized.
- You can highlight a contact and call or send messages.
- Makes it easy to access your Skype contacts without opening the full program on your desktop.
- Under Options, you can decide how it looks.
Google Calendar Gadget
- Puts a Google Calendar right on your desktop.
- Easily see what you have scheduled.
- Pick which of your calendars are displayed.
- Under options, you can pick a theme, and set other parameters.
VolumeGadget
- Control sound volume right from your desktop.
- No need to poke around in the tray looking for the sound control.
- You can easily mute, increase or decrease the volume.
Gmail Counter
- Nice clean look.
- Shows the number of messages waiting.
- Under Options, you can configure colors.
- You can also configure what sounds play when events occur.
- Allows you to determine how often mail is checked.
- You can open Gmail in your default browser by double-clicking the icon.

- You can determine how often it updates.
- You can also configure display settings like font size and set the scroll speed.
