- Pidgin supports a wide range of instant messaging services.
- There's support for ICQ, Yahoo, Google Talk, MSN, and many more.
- It has lots of configurable options.
- "Buddy Pounces" can alert you to when friends come online, go offline, send a message and so on.
- Supports plugins that cover a wide range of functions.
Chrome
- Is lean, mean and fast.
- It now supports themes so you can customize the browser.
- Chrome supports extensions so you can add more functionality.
