AKA: Basic Input / Output System

Tells the hardware how to make the operatoring system works.
Can be modified by the end-user.
Make sure System Restore is on and working.
Change if your system isn't running right.
If your a tweaker, you can upgrade your speed cells.
How your hardware interacts with each other.
Time and date.
Boot seqeunce [Most Common].





- Tweaking - making subtle adjustments to a system.

- Entering the BIOS is different depending the make of your computer, but pressing F2 at splash screen is most common.

- The splash screen can go by pretty fast , so you might have to restart the machine and hit the proper key on reboot.

- BIOSes used to be removable, but now they-re usually soldered right the the motherboard.

- Most common reason to enter the BIOS is to change the boot sequence.

- Flashing your BIOS can be done if you run into any serious hardware issues.

- Because the BIOS consists of both hardware and softwrare, it's probably more properly called "firmware".
