CES 2009 - Find me SPOT!

SPOT is one of those devices that you hope you never have to use to its full capabilities... but it's reassuring to know they're there. SPOT is a satellite messenger; when you're camping, hiking, rock climbing, hunting, fishing etc., it allows you to send periodic updates to people back home to let them know you're safe. They can then track your progress on a Google Map. Should the worst happen, there's also a button to alert people back home that you need help and a 911 button that will link up with local rescue authorities. All this while you're way out of cell phone coverage range.
