In the dog-days of summer, thoughts turn to pools and patios and, in the evening hours, hot tubs. Centrios wants to make pool parties even more enjoyable with its
Floating Wireless Speaker for iPod and MP3
which, as the derivative product title suggests, is afloating wireless speaker for iPods and other MP3 players
. Thisfloating speaker
system kicks out decent monophonic sound, keeps your iPod safely away from the splash zone with its claimed 30 meter range. It includes a remote control (notably not waterproof though), lets youlisten to your iPod while in the water
and charges said iPod to boot. Not a bad deal at as little as $30 on sale.Download this episode now

Really nice demonstration of this gadget. but I'm sittin here wondering why on earth they'd make a speaker to float on a pool and only make the bottom waterproof. Ya get one kid jumping in to do a cannonball and your speaker might get sunk. Makes no sense to me that the control isn't waterproof either. Seems like a disaster waitin to happen.
