A messy desktop is the bane of pimps everywhere. Seriously, just ask Iceberg Slim or Don "Magic" Juan. They'll tell you that a cluttered desktop is a sign of a cluttered mind. Lucas demonstrates the digital equivalent of stuffing all the junk on your desk into a drawer to give the illusion of cleanliness. One way requires some Terminal bashing, the other uses free software to clear the clutter.

Show Notes

- Open a Terminal window

- Enter the command defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool false

- Enter the command killall Finder

- All icons on your desktop will disappear.

- You can still find all the junk you had on the desktop though: Open a Finder window and navigate to the desktop.

- if you want to restore icons to your desktop, open a Terminal window and input the command defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool true

- Enter the command killall Finder and your icons will return.
