To open the Terminal

- Open up Spotlight and search for Terminal.

Terminal commands

- Input the following commands into a Terminal session.

To have icons in a grid-view stack highlight on mouse-over:

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean YES

killall Dock

To alter the List view in Stacks

defaults write com.apple.dock use-new-list-stack -bool YES

killall Dock
