If you're an avid concert goer or a firearms enthusiast (or both... just please keep them as separate hobbies), these high-tech earplugs might be just what the doctor ordered. Although at $500, you may just have a heart attack from sticker shock. The Etymotic EB-15 BlastPLG earplugs protect ears from sharp or sustained noise above safe levels.

Etymotic EB-15 BlastPLG earplugs
$499.99
The EB-15 earplugs were designed to mitigate hearing damage and disorders like tinnitus for soldiers in war situations. Unlike regular, non-electronic earplugs though, the EB-15 plugs still allow you to hear even soft sounds and place them, just as you would without earplugs in.
However, where they earn their $500 asking price though is in protecting ears from damage due to sharp noise (like firearms) or sustained noise (like at a concert). Rather than just dampen or mute all sound though, the EB-15 plugs promise to drop the sound level by 15 dB without killing "situational awareness."
