- Updating the BIOS should be done maybe once a year, but more likely once in the life of your computer.
- For additional BIOS updates and information, visit Wims BIOS.
- Most brand name computers will have the BIOS downloaded as executable, AKA .exe.

- If you loose power during a BIOS flash, your flash memory containing the BIOS could become corrupted.

- Apple computers don't have BIOS updates, because there is no BIOS.
- Apple uses EFI or Extensible Firmware Interface.
- Both Windows XP and Mac OS X use a bootloader to allow the operatoring system to run.

- On older systems, make a boot floppy from the command line with FORMAT A:\S
- On Windows XP create you bootable floppy by, going to formatting your floppy and checking the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk".

- Take your old computer to REBOOT Canada, who will take your old computers off your hands.

- On a desktop make sure you have access to the jumper pins on the motherboard just in case something during the BIOS update goes wrong.
