Hot-on-the-heels of the HP's recent acquisition of Palm comes the latest Tablet device to enter the race - the HP TouchPad. Like the iPad, it has a 9.7 inch capacitive touchscreen, gyroscope, accelerometer, wifi and Bluetooth capability. Unlike the iPad (or any Android tablets for that matter) it runs on WebOS: a multitasking operating system developed by Palm that uses "cards" to contain running apps. It can also be charged wirelessly through electromagnetic induction.
This process also allows for another unique feature called "Touch to Share", where an HP smartphone (like the upcoming Pre 3) can wirelessly share data with the TouchPad simply by touching the two together in specific locations.
Another highlight of the TouchPad is how it interacts with the Touchstone Charging Dock. You can set up several docks around your home or office to perform different tasks when paired. For instance, one dock can display a clock on your TouchPad's screen, another dock will activate a photo slide-show.
Finally, WebOS also allows features Flash, allowing the device to offer the full web experience. And with Touch to Share, you can tap your Pre3 onto the screen and take the content you were surfing on the go.
