iPad 2 key features
Screen size and resolution is the same as with the orignal iPad. However, the iPad 2 is thinner and 15% lighter and features a new A5 processor, a 1GHz dual core processor. It promises 9x improved video speed. The screen remains at 1024x768 but now features HDMI out via an adapter (not included).
Cameras
A front facing VGA (640x480) camera allows for FaceTime and a rear camera capable of shooting 720p video.
Smart Covers
Smart covers attach via magnets and auto aligns. It protects and cleans the screen and folds up to prop up the iPad 2 in a couple of different orientations. $39 for the standard and $69 for the leather version.
iOS 4.3 for iPad
iOS 4.3 brings FaceTime to the iPad 2, thanks to the front-facing camera, improved home sharing and improved AirPlay capabilities.
iMovie and GarageBand for iPad
iMovie ($4.99) is launching with the iPad 2 to take advantage of the 720p video recording. Assemble clips into a clean and edited final video on the iPad 2's screen.
GarageBand ($4.99) allows for 8-track recording and a variety of loops.
