If you've rooted your Motorola Droid, the Froyoz ROM will get you up to Android 2.2, AKA Froyo, without having to wait for the official update. If you haven't rooted your Droid yet, check out our

- Download ROM Manager
- In ROM Manager, tap Download ROM.
- You can look through the ROMs available for your phone.
- ROM Manager will only show you ROMs that will work with your phone.
- Many ROMs will indicate if they are "Stable" or if they are "Release Candidates".
- Tap the ROM "Onix Froyoz" and tap Download.
- When the ROM finishes downloading, you'll be prompted to Backup Existing ROM and to Wipe the Data and Cache.
- In most cases, you'll want to check both and then tap OK twice and your phone will reboot.
- When your phone reboots, it will have the Onix Froyoz ROM installed.
- You'll skip the tutorial, but you will have to setup your Google account.
- You may also want to set up your wireless connection.
- Note that when you flash a ROM, it's like starting over.
- Now you can customize your phone.
- We recommend that you find out what ROMs are available for your device and then do a little research.
- In this way, you can flash the ROM that will enhance your experience the most.
