It seems that these days, a smartphone just isn't a smartphone without an impressive catalog of applications to back it up. Android smartphone users can connect with the Android Market to grab Android apps over the air or on a Wi-Fi connection.

- Android Market is pre-installed on Android smartphones.
- Click on the Android Market icon to launch the Market.
- Scroll left and right to view featured applications. Scroll up and down to browse app categories.
- Click on an application category to view available apps.
- Click on an app to view details and click on the Install button to grab the app.
- Because Android is an open development platform, you'll need to make sure the apps you install are trustworthy. Android Market will tell you what kind of access to your phone an app is requesting so you can determine if that's acceptable.
