Apple's now ubiquitous iPod hit store shelves on October 21, 2001. Since then, its name has become synonymous with "digital audio player," like Kleenex is short-hand for facial tissue and Google synonymous with search. The iPod nano, now in its sixth iteration, has added some new tricks to the iPod line. Including, among others, video recording, FM radio with Live Pause. Check out this

What it is: The littlest of the iPod family to still incorporate a screen. Now includes a video camera too.

- 2.2-inch color screen.

- Available in nine colors, two of which are exclusive to the exclusive to the Apple Store

- First iPod to include video recording.

- First iPod to include an FM radio tuner.

- Radio features "Live Pause" which records radio stations as you listen. Live Pause allows you to rewind up to 15 minutes or pause a broadcast to continue listening later.

- Radio also allows for iTunes Tagging; a service that lets you tag songs for later purchase. Works on certain radio stations only, and currently it's only in the US.

- Records video in 640x480 resolution at 30 frames per second.

- Includes an accelerometer to change screen orientation in certain applications.

- Accelerometer also lets the iPod nano function as a pedometer with step counter, timer and calorie meter.

- Voice recorder allows for chapter insertion.

- Includes a small speaker for music or note playback.
