Before the Apple App Store, installing an app on your mobile phone was an exercise in geekdom. Now, until BlackBerry catches up and releases its answer to the App Store for BlackBerry users, we still have to install applications the old-fashioned way. However, it's easier than it may seem and there's a whole world of great applications out there for your Storm, Curve or any BlackBerry smartphone.

- When the message is delivered, open it and click on the install link that's in the body of the message.
- Follow through the install steps: look for a Download Now link, read the End User License Agreement (EULA) and then install the software on your device.
- On the BlackBerry security screen, select Download.
