60-Second App - Apple

Wednesday April 6, 2011
If you've ever wanted to try

making music on a synthesizer

, you might want to try out the

KORG iMS-20 app for iPad

. At $32.99, it's a pricey app, but nowhere near as expensive as buying a

vintage MS-20 synthesizer

. This app offers all the capabilities of the original synth including knobs

controlling modulation, cut-off

and more, and a patch field for altering sound output.

Show Notes

KORG iMS-20
iPad
$32.99

- At $32.99, the KORG iMS-20 is pricy for an app, but accurately captures the capabilities of the

classic KORG MS-20 synthesizer

and allows you to record whole songs.

- With a keyboard at the bottom and a plethora of knobs to play with, this app is a ton of fun and allows for a dynamic range of sounds.

- The patch field on the right allows you to change how the sound is processed, though if you don't have much experience with synthesizers this might take a bit of getting used to.
