Since its days as a film juggernaut have ended, Kodak has built itself a new reputation for creating simple, easy-to-use and user-friendly digital cameras. It's right there in the product name: EasyShare. The EasyShare M590 continues the tradition, but it's more complicated than the EasyShare user base may be ready for.

Show Notes

Kodak EasyShare M590
$200

- World's thinnest 5X optical zoom camera as of July 2010.

- Sleek case though with a decidedly plastic feel.

- Does not do "simple" as well as other cameras in the EasyShare line: it's aimed at a different user.

- Social feeds, email and uploading to Kodak EasyShare gallery via the Share button. Requires a connection to Kodak software running on your PC.

- Supports photo event and face tagging.

- Records video in HD.

- Multiple scene modes plus Smart Capture mode.

- 14MP capture to internal memory or microSD card (not included).

- Buttons feel a little flimsy.

- Not as "hand-friendly" as some other compact digicams we've used.

- Does not perform very well in low light situations: this has been an issue with many Kodak cameras tested.
