LG's Optimus Chat (LG-C555) is a smartphone-ish slider that is underpowered by smartphone standards but, when it comes in under budget, can be forgiven. It is, at its heart, a feature phone. LG Optimus Chat LG-C555
$200 (less with carrier relief)
- 600MHz processor
- 3MP rear camera
- Landscape QWERTY slide-out keyboard
- 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen
The LG Optimus Chat (LG-C555) is an entry-level smartphone for the chat and text messaging crowd. Running Android 2.2, it does some of the smartphone stuff with full access to the Android Market (just don't try any games beyond the very simple ones), email, social networking and so on. Running Android 2.2, it also lets you create a wireless hotspot.
