"Hypermilers," a weird subset of drivers obsessed with squeezing every last meter out of a tank of gas, will have a field day with this. The less OCD afflicted among us can also use the data provided to get an idea of how our driving style affects both the environment and pocketbook. Idling, driving stop-and-go, accelerating and braking too fast all have an impact on how much gas our cars consume. The EconoDriver brings that impact into sharp focus.

Show Notes
Lemur Monitors EconoDriver key fob and sensor
$69.99 MSRP
- Wireless and sensor plugs into the OBD-II port (vehicle data port or vehicle diagnostic port) of your car and continually collects data.
- Sensor is powered by the OBD-II port and requires no cables, adapters or batteries.
- Installation is as simple as finding your OBD-II port, usually located under the steering column, plugging the sensor in and syncing the two by following the included instructions. About a three minute process.
- You need to know your engine size (in liters). This data is available in the owner's manual or with a quick Google search.
- Input the price of gas when you fill up and the EconoDriver will give a gauge on how much driving is costing you. If I drive to and from work for example, it costs about $2.50/day.
- How "green" you're driving is displayed by five leaves for a rating out of five in .5 increments across the middle of the device.
