Status Update Ep. 15
Viva le location based services revolution

Foursquare

A new version of Foursquare was in early January, 2011 and lets you effectively bookmark the real world. You can easily bookmark a restaurant you're passing by, stating that you want to come back and visit a given location later.

Gowalla

A new version of Gowalla also recently saw release. Rather than drawing a line in the sand, Gowalla has decided to integrate with other services including Facebook Places, Twitter and even Foursquare. In addition to just being a more useful app in general as a result, Gowalla has also elegantly found a way to consolidate yours and your friends' check-ins, regardless of the service they use.
