Apple:
- Produces and distributes both the operating system and it's hardware.
- Products for Mac are certified by Apple before being released.
- Mac's are traditionally more expensive.
- Mac's are best at multimedia creation and publishing.
- No known live viruses available to date.
- No spyware.

Windows:
- Microsoft only produces the operating system.
- No standards for hardware and software, thus one bad piece of hardware or software can damage your system.
- PC's are traditionally cheaper.
- Windows is for the enutherists.
- Wide varity of applications.
- Lots of games.
- Hundreds and thousands of viruses are out there.
- Tons of spyware.

- 3rd party hardware is probably where you'll get incompatibilities and conflicts.
