The Magellan eXplorist 710 is at the high-end of consumer handheld GPS. If you're a The North Face wearing, Columbia sporting wannabe woodsman, the Magellan eXplorist 710 is the perfect match. If you're a dedicated outdoors person, a hunter, fisher, geocacher, camper or hiker, there's plenty to love too. The key thing that sets the eXplorist 710 apart from other handheld GPS units is the 3.2 MP fixed focus camera in the back which is about on par with a current generation smartphone cam.

- Two hardware buttons, one for menu, one a dedicated camera / shutter button. These buttons are customizable.

- Waterproof and solidly built.

- Takes AA batteries which is good if you're in the true wilderness without access to a place to charge up. This, of course, assuming you have extra AA cells on hand.

- Has major roads all around the world and detailed topgraphic maps for the USA.

- Shows lines between public and private land.

- Can direct you to many POIs, including potable water sources, bike shops, trailheads and other outdoor activity specific points.
