, the Nexus S, is a technological wunderkind. Its look stands out in a crowd, it runs Gingerbread beautifully and it certainly doesn't skimp on the tech specs. While would-be owners are stuck with a slightly underwhelming 16GB of internal storage and no support for SD cards, the Super AMOLED display at 800x480px, the Hummingbird processor and 512MB of RAM might just make up for it.

Nexus S video review
$529.99 unlocked

- We've finally managed to get our hands on the Nexus S, the second generation of unadulterated Android phones with Google's own stamp of approval.

- The curved screen and profile helps the Nexus S stand out from the crowd.

- 4.0 Super AMOLED WVGA, 800x480 resolution with 235 ppi screen looks amazing.

- 5 MP rear camera with flash. VGA (640x480) camera for video chat.

- No stock video chat app installed.

- An incredibly smooth UI thanks to the 512 MB of RAM, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor and presumably, OS tweaks in Android 2.3, Gingerbread.

- The overall materials quality doesn't though; the back is decidedly plastic.

- Released in late 2010, the Nexus S simply can't stand up to the next gen devices we saw at CES 2011. Most notably, the dual-core processor Motorola Atrix 4G (video device tour link).

- Overall, the difference between the Nexus One and the Nexus S feels more like the jump from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 3GS as opposed to from 3G/3GS to iPhone 4.

- Keyboard improvements make the Nexus S easier to type on, which answers our biggest beef as long-time Nexus One users.
