- To move the Dock, hit the Apple menu, roll-over Dock and choose a position for your Dock.
- Find user-generated Dock mods at DeviantArt.
- Go to Macintosh HD > System > Library > CoreServices > Dock.
- Right-click, select Show Package Contents then go to Contents > Resources.
- Select the files you want to change; cross-reference them with the files in the Dock mod files you've downloaded.
- Before pimping your Dock, perform a backup of these core files by copying them to another folder on your machine.
- Delete the appropriate files in the Resources folder (you will be prompted for an administrator password).
- Copy the files from the downloaded Dock mod and paste them into your Resources folder. Again, you'll be asked for an administrator password.
- Open a Terminal window.
- Type "Killall Dock" without quotation marks to restart the Dock with the new mod applied.
- Dock Spaces is downloadable software that lets you have multiple Docks on one machine.
