Inkjet: a controlled release process of ink from the nozzle to the paper. It's ideal for photo printing.
DPI: is defined as dots per inch. You need around 600dpi for a good photo print.
Die-Based Ink: the ink will run off the page if it interacts with water.
Pigment-Based Ink: is better for photographs you wish to last a longer period of time. This type of ink is similar to ink that comes out of your standard ball-point pen.
Laser: it prints the document to your sheet of paper with a combination of heat and pressure. Laser printers use a toner instead of ink.
