SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip video review

SanDisk's latest, the Sansa Clip Zip, is a low-end digital audio player well suited to the Shuffle set. Priced competitively with the Shuffle (Apple's tiny DAP is the most logical comparison), the Clip Zip brings some features the Shuffle can't touch. Expandable storage via inexpensive microSD, radio play and voice recording. Oh yeah, and the 1.1-inch color screen. If you're looking for an inexpensive player for the gym, cycling or running, the Clip Zip is a solid bet. Budget a little extra for a pair of decent headphones though.

Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip
$60 - $70
4GB and 8GB

The Clip Zip is a tiny, light-weight but reasonably well featured, and perhaps more importantly, inexpensive MP3 player. It compares very favorably with the iPod Shuffle but brings features the Shuffle can't touch.

The software SanDisk would have you install to manage media cannot, however, beat iTunes.

While the support for Mac is weak and there's no dedicated software on the platform, ironically the experience is better. The Clip Zip shows up as a standard USB drive. Open iTunes, open an album and then drag and drop in to the Sansa Clip Zip's Music folder.
