While you'll pay a premium, the GoFlex Slim is true to its name. This is the slimmest external drive we've laid hands on. It seems barely larger than a 2.5-inch standard laptop drive. In the package, a USB 3.0 cable and connector that's backwards compatible with USB 2.0. The Slim continues Seagate's interchangeable connectors concept meaning you can change the way your drive connects to the computer without having to buy a whole new drive. If you don't mind breaking the aesthetic of this super slim drive, you can even use the connectors from other not-so-slim FreeAgent GoFlex drives.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Slim STBE320100
320GB
$99.99
Specs:
The drive in the GoFlex Slim is a 7200 RPM drive. Only currently available in one capacity of 320GB. At 7200 RPM and using USB 3.0, you're getting transfers that Seagate promises are up to 40% faster than with a 5400 RPM drive. However, you're still not getting full USB 3.0 speeds. That said, it's certainly a noticeable difference with large file transfers.
Software:
As with many other GoFlex drives, the Slim includes software for Windows users for things like backup, encryption of all or part of the drive and so on. It also includes Paragon for cross-platform use. The Mac installer presents the option of wiping the drive for use with Mac OS X or installing the Paragon cross-over drivers on your Mac.
While it's got a price premium attached, it's a great complement to a travel kit. Especially a netbook travel kit. The drive is about the thickness of a no.2 pencil (as Seagate is overly fond of pointing out) and takes up almost no room in a laptop bag, messenger bag or backpack.
