Rule 3: Remove apps you don't use
If you haven't run an app in the past month or more, chances are you don't really need it. Remove apps you're not using to free up some system resources.
Rule 4: Remove the junk
Get rid of unnecessary media like music, videos and photos. This will free up some storage and in the case of photos and videos, can actually make your camera and gallery apps run faster.
Rule 5: Clean your Android application cache
Apps may spool information into cache. This can be helpful but it can also clog things up. If in doubt, clean it out.
Rule 6: Clear off your storage card on Android
Remove the junk from your Android phone's SD card to free up some space.
Rule 7: Remove application and Safari cache on iPhone
In your iPhone settings, go into Safari and scroll down to Clear History, Clear Cache and Clear Cookies.
Rule 8: Physically clean your device
Nothing makes a device feel shiny and new quite like... being shiny. Use dedicated electronics cleaning cloths, compressed air in a can and other tech cleaning mainstays. Shine on you crazy iPad.
