#177 | 20:23 |

Monday June 29, 2009
With the rapidly expanding storage needs of a multi-computer connected household, wouldn't it be nice to have all your family's files in

one central, backed-up storage location

? And wouldn't it be nicer still to be able to access said storage location from anywhere in the house? Well, with

Network Attached Storage (NAS)

, always-accessible central storage for the home is a reality. You can

stream music and movies anywhere on the network, share documents, pictures

and much more.
Sean and Andy talk about Network Attached Storage, explain why you need it in your house, and

how to set up your own NAS

... And along the way, animal sounds are made.

This is quite good explanation of a Network Storage Attachment or Network Attached Storage Device. One thing, you need at least more than one back-up drive and one of the located off-site. One back-ups, can be lost from a fire, thief, or hard drive failure. The latter I can attest to. 270+ gig. It cost a lot of money to get the files back. Otherwise, warranty replacement would be enough. Trust me on that. If you don't have your data backed up more than once, you do have anything backed up. This information is the only thing missing with this video podcast. Otherwise, quite good. W. Kirk Crawford Tularosa, New Mexico
