Whether you know it or not there are often multiple copies on one program on your computer. In general these tend to be auxillary files that help programs run, like DLL files. Often though, there are also images, audio and video. Over time all these duplicate files can take up a lot of disk space. This week, Doc takes a look at three free programs to help you find and deal with duplicate files.

- Let's you pick selected directories or all of them.

- Chose search criteria like file name, file size and so on.,

- Have it ignore files smaller than a certain size.

- Gives a summary and allows you to delete duplicates.

Duplicate Cleaner

- Has a Selection Assistant to help you pick search criteria

- Scan as many folders as you want.

- Finds 0 byte files.

- 0 byte files have no content so they can be deleted safely.

- Tabbed interface makes it easy to see what's going on.
