We're not fans of hyperbole so we won't suggest that the

Nexus One is an iPhone killer

(oops, we just did). However, it is a worthy competitor and the first Android handset that makes us seriously contemplate making the switch. We take a

- Runs Android 2.1 (Eclair)
- Qualcomm QSD 8250 1GHz processor
- 512MB flash, 512MB RAM
- 4GB microSD card included. Expandable to 32GB

- Ties in closely with your Google account, for good or ill.

- Softkeys across the bottom of the screen look after common tasks.

- Trackball allows for a more tactile navigation.

- Email app for non-Gmail addresses (or for Gmail addresses if you like).
