ViewSonic may be among the first names you think of when considering desktop LCD monitors. However, it's probably not be the first name you that comes to mind when thinking about portable electronics. That may change with the HD MovieBook VPD400. This light-weight, 4.2-inch screened portable media player (PMP) comes in at about $140 but still manages to offer a good solution for taking your content like pictures, videos and music with you.

- 720p output via composite cable
- 800x480 resolution
- 300 cd/m2 brightness
- 8GB internal storage
- 1800mAH lithium ion battery
- 140g
- 0.2W speakers built-in

- Large, bright screen.

- Slow transfer speed: ~2MB / sec (700MB file took >six minutes to transfer).

- Supports microSD memory for expansion.

- Given the slow transfer speeds to internal memory, moving media to a microSD card and playing it on the device from there is a quicker and less frustrating way to get media onto the device.

- Includes cables for connecting via composite + RCA for audio.

- Included earbuds are cheapies but do the job.

- Nice bright screen.

- Supports multiple file formats.

I think you mean component output cable for the HDTV jack, not composite.
