- Intel Centrino Processor Series - is a marketing platform from Intel for wireless connectivity requirements certified by Intel. The Pentium-M was known by codename "Banias". It was launched in March 2003. Next was the Core Duo followed by the Core 2 Duo. Both the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo also had two processing cores for added performance. Centrino 2 almost doubles the system bus speed, uses DDR3 memory at faster speeds and lower voltage, the ability to switch between intergrated and discrete graphics module as nesessary, hardware decoding of blu-ray multimedia, and intergration of wireless-n and WiMax technology.
- Chipset - essentically a traffic-guard. It directs and allocates where specific work should be completed by the processor and in which particular order. It controls the system bus which is the data pipeline.
