- WiMax: Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access.

    - 802.16 is the WiMax standard.

    - 30 mile range line of sight.

    - 3-4 mile range in urban cities when buildings interfere with the connection.

    - Potentially bandwidth up to 70 megabits per second.

    - Comparable to DSL and Cable internet access.
- OFDM: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing.
- The mobile WiMax specification is called 802.16e-2005.
