Digg, the social news website that connects users as they share video, text and other content, recently released its new version. Suffice it to say, a vocal portion of Digg users simply aren't digging it. Jay Goldman looks into what went wrong and what Digg is doing to fix the issues with its release and iterate strategy.

Digg

- Digg lets users vote stories up and down; the top stories are "dugg" to the top of the news flow.

- The new version of Digg offers a personalized news feed as opposed to the larger full feed.

- The full feed is still available.

- The "bury" button has been removed.

- Auto-submit allows RSS feeds to be added such that Digg will pull all new entries into Digg for voting.

Reddit is a competitive social news site to Digg.

- Some Digg users are making a point of defecting to Reddit.
