We're not ones for religious debate but we'd argue there are times it's a good idea to be agnostic. Take, for example, these 3D glasses that don't commit themselves to just one 3DTV manufacturer but rather work with just about every 3DTV set going. They're universal 3D glasses. Since you have to pony up for extra pairs of 3D glasses anyway (unless you're selfish or terminally alone) it seems to make sense to buy glasses that are going to work with any 3DTV on the market.

XpanD X103 Universal 3D Glasses

- Universal active shutter 3D glasses.

- Stated to work with "any 3D-ready display" on the market. Check the Full list of currently supported models.

- Firmware updatable to support new models. However, there is no apparent connection method on the glasses and it sounds like the update will have to be performed at service centers.

- Firmware upgrade for XpanD X103 glasses planned for mid-February, 2011.

- Full 1080 3D.

- Comfortable and light weight. Can be worn over eyeglasses.

- Replaceable CR2302 button cell provides up to 100 hours of use according to XpanD. Two extra batteries are included in the package.
