Xperia X10 mini video review

#156 | 5:22 |

Gadget TV

Friday September 17, 2010
Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 mini is true to its name. We looked at the Xperia X10 in a previous episode of Gadget TV. The mini has the same look and feel as the Xperia X10 but it's decidedly, well, mini. Not a true Android smartphone in that there's no on-screen QWERTY keyboard. Think of the Xperia X10 mini as a feature phone with some of the benefits of Android... though you're using Android 1.6.

Show Notes

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini
$375 without a contract
As low as $30 on contract

- The smallest Android phone we've seen thus far and the smallest phone we've seen in recent memory.

- Small screen hampers things like text entry and widgets.

- The Sony Ericsson UI that we've seen on the Xperia X10 is present on the mini too.

- Sony Ericsson TimeScape lets you see your most recent social media happenings from Twitter and Facebook.

Conclusion: If you're in the market for a smartphone, you'd be advised to look elsewhere. The X10 mini's small screen and limited text input options are an Achilles' heel. If you're looking for a feature phone that can do some social and smartphone stuff in a truly tiny package, look no further.

X10 mini specs:
- 2.6-inch capacitive touch screen
- 320x240px resolution
- 600 MHz processor
- 5MP camera
- aGPS
- Wi-Fi
- 2GB microSD card included, expandable
