- The latest Kindle device to be released by Amazon displays text using electronic ink. This makes the display look like ink but perform like a digital monitor.
- The new Kindle also offers more contrast for easier readability.
- There is a QWERTY-style keyboard below the Kindle screen along with menu and navigation buttons.
- At the sides of the Kindle are page forward and back buttons. On one side are holes that allow the Kindle to be attached to a carrying case.
- At the back of the device is a pair of speakers for audio playback.
- At the bottom of the Kindle are a port for headphone, a mini-USB port for charging, the volume controls and the power button.
